Twitter Parties: A new way to party online!

Have you ever attended a "party" on twitter?

I have been attending for the past year or so and have had so much fun!
You chat with brands and major bloggers - with the chance to win amazing prizes!

You must have a twitter account to get started, and get to know a tweeting platform you're comfortable with.  I use Tweet Deck as it has worked best for me.  However, there are a few others you can try out for yourself:

• Twubs
• Hootsuite
• Tweet Chat

There are more, but these are the ones I have tried so far.

To join a twitter party...

1. Find a few twitter parties (Check my "Twitter Parties" Page)
2. "Follow" the sponsors and hosts of the party
3. RSVP by entering your twitter handle: @example and info (if needed)
4. Use your tweet management tool such as Tweet Deck to follow the #hashtag
5. Chat!  Be involved, answer host's questions, ask questions, comment on others' tweets!

Prizes are usually given to those who participate or answer questions throughout the party.
A host may tweet "Q1. What are your plans for summer?  #summertime"

You should re-tweet in case others missed the question, then reply or send a new tweet as an answer. "A1. I plan to go to the beach! #summertime"

The hashtag is the most important part of a twitter party.  Always make sure you include the party's corresponding #hashtag to participate in the party!
